Welcome to Bluebirds' Class
Year 5 Mr Ingram

How do we Burp, Slurp, Belch and Squelch
In our new topic we will be learning about how our body works.  We will be making life size diagrams labelling body parts and organs.  We will be finding out about how our major organs work and their role within our body.  Children will have the opportunity to learn about our teeth and their role in starting the process of digestion.

We will be using laptops, ipads and books to aid in our research.
In the first term our class has worked extremely hard on our topic of
Bones, Blood and Gory Bits. We have enjoyed being scientists, learning
about all the interesting facts about how our bodies work. We found
out about our hearts and other major organs, the role of the skeleton,
healthy eating and keeping fit.

We carried out scientific investigations to measure our heart rate and the
effect exercise has on it. We also made our own healthy plates of food and tasted
fruit smoothies, recording the appearance, texture, taste and smell before putting
into a graph to find out the most popular.

We used the laptops and ipads to research our topic and created our own popplet
mind map showing what we found out.
