We have been writing our own versions of The Sound Collector poem using the sounds we can hear around the school.
Post the best line from your poem in the comments.
A stranger came this morning
Dressed all in black and grey
Put every sound into a bag
And carried them away...

This week we have been learning about our teeth. We found out that we have several different types of teeth, and that they all do different jobs! The children then used their ICT skills to create posters to teach others about how to look after their teeth. Have a look at some of their posters below:

Bones, bones, bones...

Our Science/Topic work this week has focused on learning about our skeletons. We have learnt the names for different bones and labelled a skeleton using ICT. We used our Maths skills to work with a partner to measure our bones and record the measurements in a table. Below are some pictures from our forest school lesson where we created our own stick skeletons!

If you know any facts about skeletons, we would love to hear them! Please comment below.

Our Trip to Techniquest

14/9/2018

To kick start our topic 'Blood, Bones and Gory Bits' we visited Techniquest to watch their 'Human Body' show. This taught us about our skeletons and some of our vital organs. We saw the digestive system in action and conducted experiments measuring heart rate and lung capacity. After the show, we explored the rest of the exhibits and found out about other important parts of our bodies.
Squirrels, what was your favourite part of the trip? Post a comment below to tell us!

Welcome to our new class blog!

Our first topic of the year is Blood, Bones and Gory Bits. This is a Science topic all about the human body. We started off by drawing around our bodies and drawing what we thought was inside before coming up with a list of questions we would like to try and answer during this topic. If you can think of any interesting questions, please post a comment below!
