Diolch yn fawr for the fantastic effort made with the Easter bonnets! What a brilliant day and the children were so proud to wear their amazing bonnets. Thank you also for coming to see our parade and listen to us sing our Easter songs. Well done Butterflies!
Today was Sports Relief day! So we completed a welly assault course in the yard where we had to balance on benches, jump into hoops, zig zag through spots, crawl through a tunnel... and as if that wasn't enough there was a tray of goo for us to jump through at the end! We raised lots of money for Sports Relief by donating £1 to take part. Well done everyone!
We have moved on to Phase 5 of Letters and Sounds now which can be tricky, because we have to learn sounds which sound the same but look different (e.g. 'ai' and 'ay'). However... the Butterflies are doing fabulously! Today we learnt the new sound 'ir' and the children were fantastic at spelling real and fake words including that sound. We even checked our spelling by writing sound buttons under each word. What super spellers we are becoming! Da iawn!
Today we had our grand opening ceremony for the 'Butterflies Bakery' (aka our new role play area!). It was very official and we invited Mr.Coole to be our special guest and cut the ceremonial ribbon. We even tasted the first batch of hot crossed buns from the bakery's ovens and it filled the shop with a delicious smell! Tasty!
We are starting our new topic this week called 'Supermarket'. It is all about food, health, science and being eco friendly. We carried out our pupil voice planning this week to allow the pupils to have input into the activities that we will be carrying out in our enhanced provision and this will be displayed in class to remind everyone what our targets and challenges are in each area of the classroom.
We all dressed up as our favourite character from a book today to celebrate children's literature and our love of reading! We read a record breaking seven books in one day today!
The butterflies took part in the Eisteddfod today, drawing welsh themed pictures, decorating leeks and singing songs for the rest of the school. What a fantastic day! We really enjoyed watching the whole Eisteddfod for the first time and made Miss Baker very proud by behaving ourselves so well all day. Bendigedig!
