At Darran Park Primary School we recognise and value parents and carers as the most important influences in children’s lives and their learning. We believe providing opportunities to involve parents in their children’s learning is a fundamental part of family engagement. This page of our website provides information about the programmes, activities and groups available to our families.

If you have any queries or concerns (no matter how small), please leave your telephone number with our school secretary or email me on the above email address and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Alternatively, let your child's class teacher know that you would like to speak to me!

Help and Advice in our Community

We know that lockdown and school closures can put huge stresses on our children and families alike- please make sure to reach out if you need any support! There are lots of ways you can get help within our school community (please see the poster below) and always feel free to contact us directly at any time, we want to support you!

We would usually be running lots of family groups at school (as you can see below) but sadly this is not allowed under the current coronavirus restrictions- hopefully we will be able to start them back up soon!

Baby Bugs - Our family and toddler group will now run for two afternoon sessions per week at the moment. Monday and Wednesday 1pm-2.30pm  Suitable for children aged birth to school age. £1 per session including snack. Everyone Welcome!

Volunteers Matter - There is an opportunity to work with Save the Children UK to gain a qualification in professional volunteering this term.  A free course is being offered to any parent / community member who would be interested in joining our school volunteers to support reading, after school groups etc..  If you are interested in joining us please pop in to school for more information.

Ziggies - Ziggies runs every Wednesday 3-4pm, any child with an adult companion is welcome to attend for storytime and a craft activity.  We would love to see you there!

Men Behaving Dadly - This male after school group has seen fantastic success over the past year and will continue throughout this term every Thursday 3pm-4.30pm.  We are offering the opportunity to Foundation Phase Families this term so come along and join in for fun activities and outdoor adventures.
