We started our topic by celebrating Bonfire Night.  We watched videos of firework displays and made our very own large scale Bonfire Night picture.
Then we thought of WOW words to describe fireworks

We had great fun going on a Glow and Glitter Hunt around the school.  We found SO many things that were shiny!
Then we sorted shiny materials from dull materials to make our own shiny collages.
Next we brought shiny things into school from home and told our friends all about them.

We had a very big surprise when we found Mr Birthday's Party Bos in our corridor one morning.  We didn't really know whether Mr Miserable had stolen it from Mr Birthday or if Mr Birthday had left it for us to look after. It was full of lots of things to make birthdays special and we had lots fun playing all the party games that were in the box

One day when we came into school we found lots of diffeent types of lights in our class.  There were lamps, fairy lights, a lit up globe, tree decorations, torches and fibre optic lights.

We read a very unusual story called 'Five Little Fiends'.  In the story five little fiends decided to take the sun, moon, sky, land and sea into thier own statues and keep them for themselves.  The world began to die and so they had to put
everything back..  The story relly helped the children to think about how important all the elements of the world are.

We had hoped to look at how the world looks as if it sparkles when the weather is frosty and we were hoping for some lovely frosty mornings.  Un fortunately all we seem to have is rain.  this also means that we haven't been able to go outside and learn as much about shadows as we would have like to.

Our last work on the topic of, "Glow and Glitter" is going to be about mirrors and refelctions.  We will reading a very strange book called, "Through the Magic Mirror" by Anthony Browne.  In this book lots of things get turned upside down.
