Autumn Term 2015
Our topic this term is called, "Scumptious" and as you  may have guessed it is going to be all about food!
We will be leaning about healthy eating, fruit and vegetables, food from other countries and we will be doing lots of cooking.  We will reading lots of stories about food and learning some fun food songs and rhymes.  I will be sending a home task as homework soon and I'm sure you will enjoy doing this task with your child.

Our Rainbow Fruit Treaure Hunt
On a wet Monday Morning we went to the shops to try to find fruits for every colour of the rainbow.  The weather may have been dull but we had a great time!

For the next fortnight we are going to be learning about vegetables.  We will be reading the books, "Supertato", "Oliver's Vegetables" and "The Enormous Turnip"

We are going to be learning The Enormous Turnip song

We have been learning about vegetables that grow above and below the ground.  We hve made vegetable soup.  It was delicious! We have also printed using vegetables and made healthy luchboxes.  (Pictures to follow)

We read the story of Paddington Bear and just like him we ate marmalade on toast.  We choose whether we ate white, brown or granary bread.

Foods From Other Countries
This week we have been "travelling" to other countries to taste some of their foods and learn a little bit about their cultures.
First we travelled to India.

We visited India by plane.  We took our passports and 'sat' on the plane.  When we 'landed ' we were in India where we looked at pictures of the Taj Mahal, national animals, dress and flag. Then we taseted curry sauces, naan breads, chutney and rice.
Next we are off to France for a French breakfast !
