Please see below the 'Guidance for Parents/Carers' regarding procedures and safety measures being put in place next week- please read the document if your child is attending their class bubble session or the hub provision. Thank you. Letter from the LA regarding the cancellation of the extended week of the summer term (WB 20.07.20)24/6/2020
Please ensure you read the information below and apply if you need to, even if you have already told a Darran Park member of staff that you would like your child to attend the hub on these dates- hub places are organised through the Local Authority, not school.
Please see the letter below for information about returning to school on the 29th June 2020.
Now that we have received the government guidance and are trying to make plans and preparations for children to return to school, we would like you to fill out this short survey to inform our decision making. When we have collated this information, then we will get back to you with more specific plans. We realise that it may be difficult to say for sure what your decision will be at this point, but we would appreciate if you could indicate your thinking. Please could you return this survey by Friday midday at the latest. Thank you for your support as always.
As many of you will have heard yesterday, Kirsty Williams (the Education Minister) has made an announcement that schools will be returning on the 29th June and the summer term will be extended by one week (so we will break up for the summer holidays one week later than usual). We know that it will be very different and we will only be able to have a third of the children in school at any one time due to social distancing measures. We will be given more guidance next week which will help us to plan and prepare for how this is going to work in Darran Park Primary School. As soon as we have more information we will let you know.
We are sure that many of you are all feeling worried about this decision. We would like to reassure you that the safety of your children is of paramount importance and the well-being of the children and their families is our absolute priority. Once we know what guidelines we have to work to, we will give you as much information as possible about how it will work to make an informed decision. Please remember that no families will be fined for non-attendance- attendance is a choice for each family to make depending on their circumstances and we will support your decision. Children that have received a shielding letter, or live with a member of family who has received one, have been advised not to return to school at this time. We are so happy that we will get the chance to check in with lots of children before the end of term and that Year 6 will be able to return to school before transitioning to the comprehensive school. Try not to worry about this situation for the moment as we have so little information, but we will inform you of any updates as soon as they become available. Thank you for your continued support. |
